Strap on your space helmets, fasten your seat belts, and get ready for the “future”. This list is in no particular order but is simply full of awesomeness! Here’s my list of the top 15+ futurists (visionaries) that inspire, influence, and help keep me thinking about a universe of possibilities. Follow all of these brilliant people and watch your mind expand. Go fire up twitter, find them on LinkedIn, hunt down their blogs, and read their books. You’ll thank me later!
Definition of a futurist (borrowed from Wikipedia):
Futurists or futurologists are scientists and social scientists whose specialty is futurology, or the attempt to systematically explore predictions and possibilities about the future and how they can emerge from the present, whether that of human society in particular or of life on Earth in general.
By the way, some of these folks may not think of themselves as futurists or even visionaries. But, hey! It started this list and I love listening to much of what they have to say. I don’t always agree with their politics or ideology but that’s one of the things that makes them interesting.
So, anyone who follows me knows that I’m a bit of space cadet. So, needless to say, my list is heavily influenced by science, technology, and space exploration — there are a few that stray from that pattern.
But let’s make this OUR LIST! Who inspires you? Who did I miss?
I’ll continue to update this post with your thoughts and suggestions. If I missed you are someone you think should be on the list, please like, comment, or inbox me with your thoughts. Let’s keep building this list and help inspire the rest of the world!
Without further ado, here’s the list:
- Peter Diamandis
- Michio Kaku
- Dr. Phil Metzger
- Elon Musk

That’s it folks. There’s nothing like starting the day with a little inspiration. Keeping our feet on the ground is important but sometimes you need to soar above the clouds to get perspective and see the future.
